Up till then I'd been on steroids and high level pain killers. The trouble was that I fell in between two departments, neural and surgical (spine v's hip) after 40 years of walking like an off balance crab had taken their toll.
In formative terms, the motor nerve conduits from the bottom end of the spine have been 're-lined' so the 'wiring' doesn't catch on the sides and the virtually worn out discs (causing the compression) will be reinforced, once the first course of action has settled down.
Of course osteo arthritis had set in too, but I can cope with that. Still never mind, I'm a fully paid up member of the 'Blue Badge' club now!

Hello Bernard nice to hear from you. Yes it's in Lassay les Chateaux, in the Mayenne region. We bought it originally in '91. I sold it after my wife died in '98 and regretted it many times. The farmer we purchased it from, bought it back from me. However he was retiring and needed to raise capital so I took it back! I've only seen it twice since buying, but some French friends, who are developers, have got a deal of work completed on it for me and I'm going over in July when it's all finished.
