Xenon Retro-Fitting by Mad-Monkey

After a few exchanged messages with MarinaBrian, and a few confirmed theories. This is now completely possible in 2nd hand parts, including the LSM (Light Switch Module). It is now possible to fit a 2nd hand LSM and have it recoded to match your car. However, it can not be solely done on the T4 (Testbook version 4.Computer Diagnostic System), another piece of kit is needed to reset the LSM, and then the T4 merrily recodes it to the car.

On a trip to Paul's (Raistlin) today we fitted a second hand YWC000200 to see if we could eliminate the two persistant errors, which currently seem to be only apparent on his car. Although we successfully coded it to the car the errors remained, and Paul opted to keep the YWC000201 which uses the one sensor, the rear one. YWC000200 uses the two, front and rear.

Providing the LSM can be reset on the bench, the LSM's could then be fitted by any T4 operator, including dealers. Last nights attempts didn't go well, although the Heath Robinson approach was not the best :-D

So there we are, another ECU (Engine Control Unit) sorted for 2nd hand coding!

The LSM needed for a Xenon Retro-Fit is YWC000200 or YWC000201. Cheers to Colin (2diesels) for the clarification on the LSM part numbers. YWC000200 requires two sensors, and YWC000201 requires one - the rear.

Big thanks to Paul for letting me play on his car! :)
