Water in spare wheel well of tourer by PaulT

PaulT
Have done a search and not found anything.

Facelift tourer and getting water in the spare wheel well - any ideas on cause.

Also find that the trim at the bottom of the tailgate holds rainwater so after rain on opening the tailgate water pours out on either side.

Never had a problem with my 2001 tourer.

The waist trim on the tourer is a known issue. It you look in the driver side cubby hole in the back, you will be able to feel the fixings at the back of the driver's side waist trim. Try smearing some sealant over the fixings you can feel with your hands. Mine was leaking here and its all good now. :-)

Are you getting water stains on the load cover?

Mine were coming from high up, and running down the side on top of the Navi computer. It's around the hinge area. I think I posted some photos in someone elses thread. It cured the big leak that was letting water into the wheel well, but I still get the odd drip on the loadspace cover.

The side window seals in the load area are usually a suspect as well! ;)
