This chrome-coloured 1:43 scale model is 1 of just 612 produced worldwide.
These were produced by Corgi, owners of the Vanguards brand range of model cars, exclusively for members of the Vanguards Collectors Club – these models were never released from new into the general market.
This Rover 75 diecast model has two numbers – LCC28, which relates to the exclusive Vanguards Collectors Club series of chrome-coloured models, and which also appears on the numberplates, and VA09205, which sits with the existing numbering of Rover 75 models produced under the Vanguards brand.
This example is totally sealed within the original cellophane and thus has never been opened or tampered with. It is in the original condition that it left the factory – please see the photographs.
It comes with the original model number certificate which is located between the model's plinth and the outer card sleeve – the edge of the certificate can just be seen in one of the photographs.
I cannot tell you which of the 612 models produced this one is because the certificate is still within the sealed box!
Note that this Vanguards model was produced under Corgi's ownership by Hornby Hobbies – oddly, the Corgi name is not present on the box, only Hornby. Neither is the previously owner's name, Lledo, present.
