Two stroke in diesel by raistlin

I was listening with great interest the other day to a discussion about putting two-stroke oil in your diesel tank. Apparently it works wonders in terms of smoothness, fuel consumption.

Does anybody have any experience of this sort of thing in our diesels please?

I stuck some in my tank this week. I haven't noticed any difference. I suppose I should be measuring the fuel consumption, but I'm not, perhaps I'll do that on the next tank.

The blokes at the motor factors where I bought the oil thought I was nuts.

i always use it.if i now decide to open it up after tootling around no more smoke.long term i hope it keeps the injectors clear.after all it is designed to keep plug fouling to a minium on two stroke engines. having run many two strokes i no that works.unless you put the oil in first of course this was on ones where you tipped it in the tank.which always worked out cheaper than buying a shot from the station.happy days.

Any member running 2 stroke oil with there Derv and using Castrol Actevo (Due to recall) should read this asap as some bathces have been contaminated with water, but the fuel filter should pick up the droplets in the quanty we use i just checked a bottle i bought from Asda and its on the list which is (batch No 126486,135401,150755) read the link below from Mattyc whom spotted it.

This could prove important for any derv owners running 2-stroke oil:

Affected batch codes - 126486, 135401, 150755
