Ok then - how do you get the silver rings off from around the internal door release ....... without breaking off the securing part.

Thought you might need something between the ring and door panel to 'lift' the securing part but I was in a breakers and did not have anything thin enough.

I found the hard way that it's easier and much quicker to remove and replace the complete handle assembly.

As above, they are glued in position to the rest of the handle, pain to refix if broken, all the handle assy comes out complete. Remove blanking cap in middle of handle, and undo phillips screw, firmly slide handle assy backwards and release from the front
