The part circled in red in attached pic has fallen off my pals car. It is not obvious how it was held in place. Can anybody tell me how they are fixed please?

Hi Mick,

Is a copy of the relevant page from the Workshop Manual of any use?

Cheers

Theres a little spring clip inside. The finisher clicks in.

Then you flick it to the side to get the finisher out, and click it back before refitting.

So either the spring clip is displaced / missing, or the lugs off the finisher were broken possibly by someone removing it using BFI.

Thanks Duncan
The finisher fell off while the car was in motion. It will no doubt become clear when a replacement is found. :)

Nothing much to help in your problem but it is a complete pig of a job to get to the clip.

If you can get to it, it's a 10 second job to remove and replace the button.

I took the door lock out and looked up the hole to see the clip in question.

Repeated 3 more times to change all the handles for black ones.
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

Yes. Getting to clip looks the most complicated part.

Looks like the lugs are still in the door. I'll have a closer look in daylight.

Thanks everybody.
