Having been away for a while, I thought that it would have been nice to report that MY08 passed it's first MoT, however this was not to be :hissyfit:

Failed: offside rear coil spring fractured.

So how much is this going to set me back?

Typical that now that I have a job with regular income things go wrong.

Cheers

Mike

Bad luck. You'll need to replace both sides. Check under the rear seat cushion for correct springs for your car. From this information you will be able to get a price.
Dare I say it, "at least you will be able to afford the repair" ;)

When I did mine followed the manual and struggled to get the spring out and the inner wishbone bolt back (think it was that). On the otherside, undid the shock absorber, levered down and out came the spring. Neither of mine were broken just fitting self levelling suspension.

That apart Mrs Lincoln, did you enjoy the play

I got the springs from a auto parts shop here in Northwich and the work was done by:

Anderton MOT Centre, Cosgrove Business Park, Northwich, CW9 6AA.

Have used these people before for MOT, very competent.

Barber and Sons who became Brooklands X-Part herein Northwich have ceased trading.

Quite a few people were none to impressed with them.
