Masquerade Ball Trousers... (complete randomness) by Mad-Monkey

Mad-Monkey
You're all a wise bunch...

I am struggling to find trousers to wear with knee high boots for a masquerade ball. Now I've googled for pictures and they all show quite tight fitting trousers which look like a plain pair of breeches. However if you search for breeches you get riding ones. Did everyone wear riding breeches (would make sense, have the horse parked up outside etc... :gmc: ) or is there another type? I didn't really want to have the patches as they would be visible, but a non-patched pair do not seem to exist.

Anyone work in costume, history, or just know? Even better, where I could get a pair in black?

Every pair has patches :(

Why don’t you just borrow a pair of your wife’s black leggings!

I would like the formal trouser look round the waist. Also I'm not married... no one's that silly! :)

A theatrical costumiers would be the place to find ready made.
e.g. http://www.gocb.co.uk/gocb_012.htm#

If you know somebody with a sewing machine (and knows how to use it) :D http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_5976396_make- ... eches.html

Hope this helps.

Cheers Mick, I had looked at getting some made, but i dont quite want the baggyness of them due to the boots, if it was shoes then I dont think it would be a problem.

My outfit may end up resembling rocky horror!
