... were Cadbury's creme eggs approximately the same size as a standard chicken egg about 40 years ago?

I've just seem some in the local shop and they'd be hard pressed to match a Sparrow's egg for size.

At least Monster Munch have now returned to their original size. I can now no longer get a full one into my mouth, just like in the 80's!!

I loved the way the old ones would stick to your teeth and you could spend the next hour picking bits out with your tongue.

I'm going to campaign for the return of the original Wham Bar they were delicious & big thick & chunky with loads of sherbety bits on the top then they made them pathetic & limp & changed the flavour
And they were only 10p

I'm with you on the "everything's" shrunk theory. Creme Eggs were definitely proper-sized when I were a lad  Faulty Kit-Kats were common and packets of crisps were mostly crisp - not air  :|
