... to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 please?

Has anybody done it yet?

The message window tells me it might take an hour or more.

So far it has taken 5 hours and the progress bar has been in the mid position since it started installing.

Any ideas please?

Thank you.
Paul

That is miles to long Paul.
Did mine tonight to check and it took 58 minutes.

It really shouldn't take that long, Paul. So I assume it crashed somehow.
Make sure you've installed the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) first.

OK Jürgen, I've downloaded that.

Perhaps I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks :)

The hotfix installed without drama.

Same thing with the service pack though. It starts and fairly gallops up to the 50% point where it stops and waits... and waits... and waits. :(

Disk John. I tried waiting for Windows Update and it never managed to get the thing downloaded :( So I downloaded the ISO from Micro$oft and burned a disk.

That sort of mucks up my idea, I'll bring the Microsoft SP1 disc with me to Nano if you still haven't sorted with your other disc I have for you.

OK. It is done :)

I just left it to do its own thing overnight and after a couple of hiccups this morning the SP is installed. What a performance :(

Good that you're sorted now Paul. :)

A bit strange. But without looking at some log files any more guessing doesn't make sense.
