High level brake light by Jumper

Jumper
Annoying me for some time now, two dead moths. One chased the other, I presume, into the relative safety, but highly visual, interior high level rear brake light. Heaven knows what their intentions were, but it (eventually) proved fatal. Ah well, hope springs eternal. Is there any forum info on removal of the unit? I hope it's not as difficult as removing my wallet - the original moths are still in situ.

It is not difficult to remove. Looking from directly below the unit, you will see 2 cross head screws, one at each end. Unscrew and the unit should fall away. There is a connector for the light and this can be unclipped. It is a bit fiddly as the space is not designed for big hands. You can then clean it. REFIT is the reversal. If I have left something out, feel free to butt in.

Thanks for that. I can see it now! I'll do it tomorrow. My hands aren't huge but with pork sausages for fingers we'll have to wait and see.

Moths duly liberated. Although their freedom was tinged with the sadness of death. I trust their joint activities were worth the exertion, as unfortunately any putative progeny would have expired with them.

It seems they had their revenge. After reassembly the functioning of the light was checked and two or three led’s were also dead (possibly of shame). Do these come singly, or is a new unit required?

Thanks Bill. He appears to have sold it, but lots of bits for sale there! Sorted 8.00am today, too early for a Sunday really.
