Yes, it is in the passenger fusebox. It is listed in the handbook (for a 2004 facelift) as 22 trailer but no value. It is physically located on the 4th row up from the bottom and the last on the right.

The fitting instructions for the kit give the info to use this position.

Well it will be far from the first time the workshop manual wiring diagrams have been wrong. There is a fuse, number 18, listed. This is an ignition supply to relays for the power feed to the trailer sockets, for fridge and charging. I wonder if a problem with the wiring to this relay could be an issue?

A little update......

Left the fuse out as not had time to pull the rear apart (plus want to do some other things) and everything OK.

This week needed to take some rubbish to the tip (including all those pieces of wood saved 'cos they might come in useful but never do) and ideally it needed the trailer. Thought 'what will happen if I plug the fuse in' - functioned OK. Connected the trailer and functioned OK. Have now done two trips. Will pull the fuse again once the trips are over. Must make time to strip out the back and check.
