General and hypothetical question by raistlin

Does anybody know how to read the RAVE pdfs with the standard Acrobat reader please?

When you try to open them directly, rather than by using the TDATA executable, the normal Acrobat reader doesn't display them.

Reason I ask is that, following from seeing the wiring diagrams on Rob's iPad yesterday I want to transfer the whole of RAVE to my iPad.

BTW. NO, this is NOT a knock off / fleabay copy of RAVE.

OR, alternatively, is anybody aware of a RAVE version ported to IOS please?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

This is a built in option on Mac when sending a doc to print one gets one or two options. Providing print permission has not been password protected.

Thanks Mick.

I'm not sure how but there is some sort of protection on the RAVE PDFs which won't even allow them to be displayed, other than in the RAVE setup itself.

Doesn't surprise me, copyright protection can be pretty heavy duty.
How about screen shots? Clumsy but can be effective.

I know I have been able to print from it before. A PDF printer looks like a printer to the software, but actually creates a PDF instead.

A bit slow, but it works OK. I installed a 14 day trial of something called virtual PDF printer. I 'printed' one set of circuit diagrams and they are openable with ordinary adobe reader. 12 meg though!

Mmm. Doesn't work once you close Rave. It deletes the temporary fonts and you can't read your PDF!

Yes,

I've tried one or two dodges which I know (but shouldn't ) and haven't been able to get a PDF that is generally openable with the standard reader :(

Planning is an unnatural process, much better to just get on with things, that way failure comes as a complete surprise instead of being preceeded by a period of worry and doubt
