Fuel gauge problem by Fille

Fille
I just filled the car up to the brim but the gauge only climbs to 3/4.
This is the first time it has done so. The tank was quite empty, but not dry - I got 57,5 litres in it.

With the onboard diagnostics section 6.0 it says __0363 and I also get the 1_6.2 display, which, according to the sources I have, should eman that both floats work.

Anyone had this problem? Will I have to dig into the tank and change the floats?

Not one I've heard of before.

The senders are in series, so to get a reading both are working, but sounds like not properly. I did have a problem once where the car had been off the road for months for surgery, and the gauge read empty even though it was 3/4 full. Banged the tank a few times and it's been OK since.

Might be worth checking there's no damp in the connectors. Under the back seat and lift the cover panels.

I had a problem a few months back when my car spent a full day up on jacks, on the way home the gauge was showing 1/4 of a tank and I ran out of petrol.

Mine has done this once or twice. Sorted itself out on next fill.

OK, I hope it will do like my old Citroën and fix itself ;)

I drove my good ladies 09 reg Corsa the other day and put some fuel in, the gauge still read the same level and then corrected itself after a short distance.

It would therefore seem to be a minor little old nuisance that can strike any car no matter what make or age.

I can report that the gauge now reads correct after the car was left standing for two days.

Glad all now sorted.

"My lovely car now sold onto a very happy new owner.
I still love this marque and I will still be around, preferred selling to breaking, as a great runner and performer"
