Dodgy fuel gauge? by AngryDog

AngryDog
Filled my car up yesterday (£78 of diesel - i wont be walking properly for weeks! lol). Gauge went all the way up (good sign lol).
anyway, did 33 miles to work this morning, gauge didnt move, obc said 50.3mpg. On the way home its dropped to the first mark. Does this sound about right? I've done around 66 miles, obc is saying 50.4mpg and range 605 miles.

Its a CDTi 135 with remap and Synergy 2. Synergy 2 is set to off unless needed (has the switch).

Cheers.

Mine occasionally sticks on the full mark after a fill to the brim. Always gone back to normal by next day.

fuel guages are only ever a guide, doesn't sound very accurate but you need to run a little longer to be honest, brim to brim calc is the only sure fire way of working out fuel consumption

Ill be doing a brim to brim fill once its empty. Will just be a little disappointed if I only manage 530 miles to a tank when its been mainly A road driving.

Ooooh - you are courting trouble letting the fuel go very low on a diesel. The in-tank pump does not like that.

Only allow it to go to 1/4 full before refueling. For me that is at around the 400 mile mark which might help if your fuel gauge is not working properly.

That apart Mrs Lincoln, did you enjoy the play
