As you will see in another post I am having a little bit of trouble with my car.

Do not know if it would make any difference in this case but perhaps a code reader would be useful - if not now but in the future.

Any recommendations for a 2004 facelift CDTi?

Best bet is to get to someone with a T4 (Testbook version 4.Computer Diagnostic System).
