Clutch overhaul - Parts advice needed by carlpenn

My Clutch has just started to slip a little, nothing major yet, only does it when I pput my foot down and then not all the time. So in preperation for the inevitable 2nd Mortgage can anyone recommend a reasonably priced set up of Clutch components for my 2.0 CDT?

Using the Eurocarparts site, I am looking at £822 just for parts (with the other club discount).

This does however, include:

Clutch Master Cylinder £155.94
Clutch Slave Cylinder £124.80
Dual Mass Flywheel £431.94 (ouch!!)
Clutch Kit £239.94

All the above being manufactured by LUK, so can anyone recommend Parts etc from other manufacturers at a lower cost? If not, no worries, I just never heard of LUK, but then again I haven't had to overhaul my Clutch system either lol !!

It's highly unlikely that the DMF has failed.

Cheers Mick, but wouldn't it be wise to replace? The Car is 10 Years old now with 170k on the clock?

LUK make clutches for OEMs too. I replaced my DMF, and the old part was fine at 120k. I'd already bought the new one, which was also LUK.

Cheers Duncan (and Mick), I will just replace the other bits and hope the Flywheel won't need changing lol.

I have been looking at purchasing a clutch kit for my CDTI and the best value I have found is as follows:

Luk 3-piece kit including CSC - £136.87 from Sutton Auto Factors (buypartsby)
http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/details/ROV ... lutch-kit/

Luk master cylinder - £114.83 (not showing on the website but I have phoned and in stock)

Alternatives:

Borg & Beck 2-piece TD4 kit - £59.99 + VAT
http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/clutch-borg ... -4848.html

AP CSC for TD4 - £45.83 + VAT
http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/clutch-slav ... -1055.html

OEM Rover master cylinder (believe Luk) £129.99 from EPC2004
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140729348235? ... 1438.l2649

I will probaby go for the Luk kit and master cylinder from Sutton Auto Factors.

I have dealt with Suton Auto Factors and EPC2004 previously and both are highly reputable. island-4x4 appears highly thought of amongst the LR community.

Hope this helps.

Update on the Luk master cylinder price:

Carparts4less have a £15 off on orders over £100 offer at the moment so the Luk master cylinder is £103 delivered. I checked with them earlier today and it's the correct Luk part number for the CDT/CDTI.
