Bluetooth wireless earphones for Ipod by raistlin

I've been using the "Opera S5" wireless earphones for a while now when using my Ipod at the gym but the earpieces are, in my view, absolutely useless (and expensive to boot).

I've seen some bluetooth wireless earphones available which require a separate bluetooth adaptor. I have an Ipod 4G Nano and I was wondering if anybody could tell me how the adaptors work? Does the Ipod need a firmware update?

The problem with all in ear phones is, they are all one size, human ears are not.

These may fit the bill. http://store.apple.com/uk/product/H7641 ... headphones

I'm sure they can be had for less money elsewhere.

iPod doesn't have a specific firmware update. It's done if at all through software update.

No idea about your specific adaptor as you didn't name it.

The adaptors that fit into the bottom of the iPods (in the 30 pin dock connector) don't require any firmware upgrades etc, they operate independently, they just use the iPod for power and the audio line out.

I got some great jabra headphones last year but they're not really suitable for the gym. I'd suggest something like the itech clip Bluetooth adaptor which allows you to convert any headphones to Bluetooth, you've got more choice over which to get then.

These aren't wireless but they are a fantastic set of earphones. I've got a set and they absolutely will not fall out of your ears when you're down the gym or running etc. Sound quality is absolutely perfect. Expensive, yes but well worth it in my opinion.

Thanks Simon. A little rich for my blood I think though :) It's given me an idea though - perhaps I could go back to cabled earphones.
