One of the greatest British folk / blues artists., sadly passed away today.
I first saw Bert in a folk club in Dalston North London. "Grotty Lotties" in about 1964. His guitar style and sensitive lyrics made me a lifelong fan. Last saw him perform solo at Jacksons Lane in Highgate about ten years ago. His early work duetting with John Renbourn were for me at the time the epitome of folk/blues.
