Chaps, I'm tearing my hair out on this one.

There is a Scottish (I think, originally from Glasgow) actress with striking eyes who played a nurse in one of the early series of the BBC drama "Casualty" and who also played an Oxford Professor in ITV drama "Inspector Lewis"

She has played many other roles as well but these are the only two I can remember at the moment.

This vexed question is causing a rumpus chez Raistlin. Can anybody remind me of her name please?

If it helps, in Casualty, she had a brief sexual liaison with the consultant Ewart Plimmer.

In Lewis, she bumps off somebody who could prove that her doctorate was fraudulently obtained.

I had been thinking of Julia St John but her eyes are 'come-to-bed' rather than striking. ;)
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.
